Blog Template Nightmare

I am obviously computer challenged. I have spent hours trying to customize this blog and I am right back where I started. I guess I should be thankful that I didn't permanently mess things up. And I had such a cute background image designed and a new header to match. I have read several tutorials and they just don't seem to work for me.

Garage Sale Joke

Saturday was a joke as far as garage sales were concerned. Nothing but junk was out there and even that was priced way too high. My son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and I were at the first sale by 7:00, but the antique dealers and pro-eBayers were already out in force and grabbing anything even remotely worth having.

My daughter-in-law was the only one who scored. She found a brand-new, never been used, still in the box Pampered Chef Pizza Stone. The price was only $10.00 and she has been wanting one for a long time, but they were just too high.

Still, the day was a nice one. I got to spend the day with my family and that made it all worthwhile. We spent the rest of the day looking for toddler bedding for my grandson. He is out of his baby bed and into a toddler bed, so he needs a new look. The choice finally came down to transportation vehicles or robots. I admit that I used unfair persuasion to get my grandson to choose the transportation set.

Since my DH had to work Saturday, he met us in town for dinner. Catfish and shrimp-uuummm!!

More Later!!!

Garage Sale Friday

Friday is garage sale day for me. My Mom, a good neighbor, and her granddaughter all went together. Boy, was it hot. Not only the heat, but the famous Texas humidity.

We made about 8 or 10 sales in all. I guess my best find was a huge zip-lock bag of vintage buttons and only $3.00. WAHOO!! Vintage sewing items are getting harder and harder to find. I am always on the look-out for vintage sewing patterns. My heart just breaks when someone tells me that they threw all of their old patterns away. Most people seem to think any pattern over 10 years old is vintage.

Of course, I did find a few little toys for my grandson(like he really needs any more). But what is a Granny to do!!

And I can always find a cookbook or two to add to my collection. And I did find two today. Not that I cook all that much, but I do love to read cookbooks.

I will probably get up early Saturday and go treasure hunting again. Most of the good stuff is gone in the first hour.

WELCOME

I am definitely a newbie at this blogging stuff. I hope you bear with me as I struggle through the process of getting a blogsite up and running.

I am an apron lover and collector. I also collect vintage patterns, especially apron patterns. I am also in the process of making aprons using patterns from my vintage collection. Some of the aprons will be my own designs using my collection of vintage aprons as my inspiration.

I am also a fabric lover and hoarder. I sometimes have a hard time cutting into a beautiful piece of fabric.

I currently have several of my aprons for sale on Etsy. I am also downsizing my vintage pattern collection, except for my vintage apron patterns.
